Micky Hoogendijk: 10 January – 7 March 2015
With ‘The Other Side of Fear is Freedom’ the iconic art photographer shows color and black and white portraits that reflect the concealed vulnerability and beauty of people.
At the base of Micky Hoogendijk’s work you will usually find an encounter, dream or subject that leads to an explosion of ideas. Recurring themes are religion, society and mythology.
The powerful images that are on display at the exhibition are the result of the photographer’s curiosity of looking at the ‘diversity’ of people and objects. Sometimes she plays with perspective, sometimes with a different view of reality. With all her work there is a continuous quest, the shift to ‘The Other Side’, which gives the spectator a pause for thought.
