The second edition of Photo Shanghai, Asia’s premier art fair dedicated to photography, opens this Friday at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre (VIP preview on Thursday).
Running from 11-13 September, Photo Shanghai will bring together both the East and West’s most exciting names from the world of fine art photography.
A highly curated and elegant fair, it will feature nearly fifty leading international galleries and over 500 works for sale by photography masters such as: Nobuyoshi Araki, Birdhead, Boomoon, Guy Bourdin, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Hsieh Chun-te, Chien-Chi Chang, Elliott Erwitt, Yang Fudong, Candida Höfer, Horst P. Horst, Axel Hüette, André Kertész, Steven Klein, Gustave Le Gray, Feng Mengbo, Daido Moriyama, Vik Muniz, Helmet Newton, Yuki Onodera, Jiang Pengyi, Irving Penn, Herb Ritts, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Zhang Xiao, Fen Yan and Yang Yongliang among many others.
Highlights of the 2015 edition include:
• A museum-scale exhibition, and the Asian debut, of Taryn Simon’s seminal work, Birds of the West Indies
• A rare opportunity to listen to and meet with acclaimed photographers from around the world as part of the Talks Programme
• A cutting-edge video installation programme curated by Professor Zhang Peili.
